A New York Times blog post summarizes a recent study finding that healthy food is more expensive than unhealthy food--not a surprising conclusion considering the high rates of obesity among lower-income populations. What was particularly interesting in this study is the finding that high-calorie, energy-dense, unhealthy food tends to rise in price more slowly than low-calorie, nutrient-rich foods.
